These Terms govern your use of the Plutos app (“Plutos”, “the app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to them.
The service
Plutos is a personal finance and split-pay app. It lets you track expenses, organize transactions across wallets, and split shared bills between people. Plutos is a record-keeping and calculation tool: it does not move money, is not a bank or payment provider, and does not provide financial, tax or legal advice.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the expenses, wallets and splits you record.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, or use it to break any law.
A balance shown in Plutos is a calculation based on what you entered — it is not a demand for payment or a binding financial instrument. Settling a shared balance happens between you and the other people involved; Plutos only does the arithmetic.
Splits and shared balances
When you split an expense, you share the relevant expense data and resulting balances with the other people in that split, for the purpose of settling up. You are responsible for using shared data lawfully and only for that purpose.
Availability
We work to keep Plutos reliable, but the service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Because entry works offline, your recent ledger remains available on your device even if sync is temporarily unavailable.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plutos and its developer are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including any financial decision made on the basis of data in the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.
Third-party services
Plutos relies on third-party infrastructure for authentication, storage and synchronisation. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the app and on this page, with an updated date above.
